Valencia CF have joined the II LaLiga Against Racism Week, which will last until March 21st, the World Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.
The objective of the initiative, launched hand in hand with EA SPORTS, is to raise awareness of the importance of eradicating racism. It was created as part of the commitment that both partners have, with the awareness that they have an important focus of influence amongst young people.
“Ending racism is one of our objectives at LaLiga. We have already denounced the racist comments that are heard at stadiums and we have created channels for fans to help us detect and report those who make such comments. This II LaLiga against Racism Week helps us to create more awareness in society and to continue taking steps against racism,” explains Javier Tebas, president of LaLiga.
“At EA SPORTS we proudly join LaLiga and its continued commitment to uniting the football community and condemning racist behaviour. With the introduction of the "UNITY" kit, players can show their support in-game," said Chris Bruzzo, EA SPORTS’s Chief Experience Officer.
On this occasion, the artistic group Boa Mistura have created the backdrop for the campaign, the word UNITY.
“We speak out against something that separates us and we believe that the way to do this is through unity. We used the language of overlapping words and fonts, and we wrote the word ‘Unity’ five times. In that superimposition there are chromatic variations, which speak of how important diversity is,” explains Pablo Purón, spokesperson for Boa Mistura.
For seven days, actions will be carried out both online and offline, which will help give visibility to the project and thus raise awareness among all sports and art fans
During the games that are played this week, visuals will be incorporated that seek to raise awareness amongst fans. In addition, most of the LaLiga Santander players will pose with shirts from the UNITY initiative, calling on fans to join the cause. In the stadiums, information on the initiative can be seen in different places.

The II LaLiga Against Racism Week also features in the football video game world. Players will be able to select the UNITY kit for their teams in FIFA 23 from March 16th.
Social networks
Social networks will also host this initiative. It is expected that fans and clubs will post their messages of support for the project and against racism during the coming days.
One more step in a global action
LaLiga have been working on identifying and denouncing any type of racist chant or possible hate crime inside and outside professional football stadiums for several seasons and, in addition, have appealed for private prosecution in those cases in which it is legally possible.
In addition, recently, it has opened an email address and a Telegram channel for fans to contact and facilitate the identification and reporting of those who use racist behaviour.
